My name is Vanessa Volker. My mother (Janice Volker) and I own and operate our horse training business, Lucky Star Equine, and 501c3 non-profit, Lucky Star's Longshots, Inc., for rescued and retired horses.

We started our teaching/training business in 2006. We started our non-profit in 2023 to meet the need for a permanent, safe home for the lifelong care of rescued and retired horses. 

  Janice (my 72 year old mother) and I work & teach 7 days a week, year round. Our animals are our whole world and their needs come first. Whether they are the working horses of our teaching program or the rescued and retired horses of the non-profit, their care needs are always top priority. We have been leasing a horse property in Ft. Collins, CO for 18 years and it is selling for re-development. We must relocate Everything: our horses, our home, non-profit and our training business by April 1, 2026. We are fundraising to support the extensive cost of moving and relocation for our 16 horses, hinny, and burro.

We have been actively searching for a new property to lease for a few years. Now we are down to the wire and have exhausted all resources. We have relentlessly spread the word on social media, reaching out to our local community and equine industry professionals and realtors to put the word out that we need to find a new horse property for relocation. We are not giving up! Our Faith is strong and unwavering. We will do absolutely everything it takes for our animals.

The cost to relocate includes moving the animals, time off work to move (we work 7 days a week, year-round to support our animals' needs), upfront costs of leasing a new location, and continuing to provide for the animals' feed, farrier, and veterinary care in this time of transitioning to a new location.

We are fundraising to support this URGENT need for financial assistance for relocation.
